It’s been awhile since I’ve posted an entry. After my last post back in June, work picked up and really got in the way of being able to post here. There’s a number of entries that I’ve written, but none have made it up yet. Editing takes awhile for me. But I miss writing, so to kick this off again, here’s a shorty.

Recently my wife and I were talking about the things that keep us looking and moving forward. She asked me, “What is your passion?”

I thought about this for a bit, just to get the words right.

My passion is writing this blog, about being honest and open with my struggles as an Intersex person. But also to be a visible force to those who are questioning their own sex or gender-identity, and/or feeling lonely or desperate. Being the odd person out can be terrifying to people who find themselves rooted in deeply conservative circles, and don’t have anyone near them to relate to.

When I was in high school and came out as bisexual. I was fortunate enough to have liberal-minded friends and teachers to help me find solace. Even now I have friends and a partner who accept me for who I am, and how I choose to live my life.  But not everyone is fortunate enough to have this type of support, and I wish to be a bright spot in their lives.

Social media gives me the opportunity to reach many people across the land.  I choose to use this blog, and Instagram to show what an Intersex person is capable of doing, and explore my own struggles with anxiety.  My hope is that I am able to help the young & old, who are questioning their own sex or gender-identity and to let them know that they are not alone.
